The U.S. State Department has notified Congress of a 15 billion dollar THAAD sale to Saudi Arabia as part of a one-hundred-ten billion dollar defense package.
The approval clears the way for Riyadh to buy 44 THAAD launchers and 360 missiles, as well as fire control stations and radars.
The Pentagon says the sale furthers U.S. national security and foreign policy interests, and supports the long-term security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region in the face of Iranian and other regional threats.
