The Spanish government has apologized to the hundreds of people injured in Catalonia in a police crackdown during last weekend's independence referendum.
As relations between Madrid and Barcelona continue to deteriorate, there's growing speculation Catalonia's president will unilaterally declare independence on Tuesday.
This comes as another of the region's biggest lenders has decided to move its legal headquarters out of Catalonia as it seeks to insulate investors from risks associated with the possible declaration of independence.
CaixaBank is the second bank to do so and follows a Spanish government decree making it easier for companies to relocate.
