Free Trade Deal
The Korea-China Free Trade Agreement officially came into force on December 20th. South Korea and China exchanged diplomatic letters in Beijing to mark the finalization of the FTA and with this deal now in force, both nations will make efforts to discuss ongoing procedures as planned. With the deal, Korea is reinforcing the price competitiveness of domestic industries and as they advance into the Chinese market, there are mounting expectations for a positive outcome. But on the downside, a free trade deal between countries can create mixed feelings depending on their target industries. Our NEWSTELLERS panelists discuss the FTA's future prospects.
