Maestro Gum Nanse is a renowned conductor in Korea with a unique perspective and philosophy on music.
Gum made his debut as a conductor after winning a prize at the prestigious Herbert von Karajan Conductor's Competition in 1977.
By traveling to the far corners of Korea, he has always strived to introduce the classical music to a wider audience in Korea.
Currently, he serves as the artistic director of Seongnam Philharmonic Orchestra and New World Philharmonic Orchestra.
He has been also involved in directing a number of chamber music festivals such as the 'Music Isle Festival in Jeju’ and 'Manhattan Chamber Music Festival’ to make chamber music more approachable to the public.
Gum continues to challenge himself as he makes new plans and projects. Today on Heart-to-Heart we are joined with conductor Gum Nanse to hear his special story and musical journey.
