Croatia taking concrete actions to deal with climate crisis

World Environment Report: Diplomat Talks on Climate Change – 22
Located in the northern Mediterranean, Croatia borders the Adriatic Sea. Gifted with natural treasures, it is adored by visitors worldwide. But climate change is threatening this coastal Mediterranean country with natural calamities such as huge forest fires and heat waves. In order to deal with such issues, Croatia kicked off its bold climate actions by adopting the "Climate Change Adaptation Strategy" last year based on 8 fields that are particularly vulnerable to climate change, including water resources, agriculture, and tourism. With 5000km of coastlines and more than 1200 islands, Croatia is geared more than ever before towards protecting its marine life. And they are encouraging "sustainable tourism" that minimizes damage to the environment while also protecting the tourism industry. This week, we'll meet with Ambassador Damir Kušen to talk more about what Croatia is doing to preserve its natural beauty.
