Irem from Turkey and Stephanie from America join forces to take a daytrip to Ganghwado Island, an hour drive from Seoul. They start off the trip by strolling in the East Asian seepweed habitat, called ocean fall foliage, on display just around this time of the year, and try making traditional hwamunseok made with Ganghwa-grown sedge. They finish it off at a shrimp farm/restaurant to savor shrimps in season grilled on the salt bed as well as in ramyeon. Join the two on their daytrip to Ganghwado Island near Seoul, which wraps up in a stunning sunset.
Suwon: Unique City Where Old Meets New
Roughly about 1.5 hours away from Seoul, Suwon is one of the most classic daytrip destinations from Seoul. With old and new existing in harmony, Suwon abounds in things to see, eat, and do, and one thing you should not skip when in Suwon is fried chicken! Fried in whole in an old-timey fashion, this chicken is so crunchy. The most popular menu of Suwon’s Chicken Street is rib marinade fried chicken, which has captivated many with its perfect sweet-salty balance. Would it be able to enthrall Lara and Yaebin?
On a full stomach, the two take a dive into Suwon in earnest. Banghwasuryujeong Pavilion draws tourists with its picturesque sceneries. While immersed mesmerizing display of fall colors there, they spot a hot air balloon in the sky. The hot air balloon is a must-do activity in Suwon where there is no tall observation deck. Would Lara and Yaebin safely make it up to 150 meters above the ground? Hop in on the balloon with them and find out!
