The COVID-19 pandemic is on the resurgence here in Korea and all across the world. In addition to those worries, new research findings have shown that the virus may be gaining strength due to ongoing mutations. We sit down with Professor Lee Han-sung from Severance Hospital and Professor Justin Fendos from Dongseo University in the studio, and also hear from Professor Choe Hae-ryun from Scripps Research in the U.S. to learn more about the emerging new strains of COVID-19 that is said to be many times more infectious than the virus in its original form. Despite these running concerns, a large water park here in Korea reopened on June 5 to those looking to escape the summer heat, with strict prevention measures in place. We connect live to our reporter Jeon Sung-cho to learn more about these guidelines, which include limiting the number of visitors to 1,200, maintaining a minimum distance of 2 meters while in the water, as well as mandatory possession of face masks in waterproof pouches.
