South Korea's Scientific Circles Help Technological Independence

The necessity for research and development on materials, parts and equipment which had been heavily reliant on imports has surfaced once again after Japan's export regulations. A prominent science and technology university and the academia circle are lending a helping hand, together with the government and industries. One representative university would be KAIST, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, a university with Korea's top-notch scholars in the science field. On this week's Korea 4.0, we visit KAIST, which is one of the first universities to form a group called KAMP, which stands for KAIST Advisors on Materials and Parts. A total of 100 former and presiding professors make up KAMP, so we will learn more about KAMP and its activities. We will also take a look at the independent technology and what the academic circle is working on to take action against Japan's export regulations.
