Ep.115 Ambassador of Ireland to S. Korea, Julian Clare
Date : 2020-09-14
Ireland is undeniably a city of great literature. Celtic’s historical assets and a history of 800 years fighting for freedom became rich soil for diverse stories and tales. Dublin, the main stage for Ireland’s writer James Joyce’s main works, has been the host of the annual International Literature Festival Dublin since 1998, and was also designated by UNESCO as a “City of Literature” in 2010. Ireland is home to many great writers including Johnathan Swift and Oscar Wilde, as well as four winners of Nobel Prizes in Literature, including George Bernard Shaw and poet William Yeats. Just in time for literacy month of September entering into autumn season, we meet with the Ambassador of Ireland to S. Korea, Julian Clare, to take a journey through Ireland’s history of literature.
