World Environment Report: Diplomat Talks on Climate Change – 17
Pakistan is experiencing all the abnormalities brought on by climate change that is impacting their daily lives and livelihood. In response, the Pakistani government is carrying out diverse policies to strengthen climate action capacities and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As Pakistan is encouraging the use of electric vehicles and developing more renewable energy, their partnership with Korea is also expected to grow stronger. In January this year, the two nations held their first “Korea-Pakistan Director-General-level Consultation on Climate Change and Science” meeting where they discussed ways to implement the Paris Agreement and work together in dealing with climate change. This week, we'll meet with the Pakistani Ambassador to S. Korea, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, to hear all about what Pakistan is doing to deal with climate change as well as how it's working with Korea on joint climate action projects.
