World Environment Report: Diplomat Talks on Climate Change – 16
Senegal boasts abundant ocean resources and stunning coastlines. But the same ocean that brings so much joy is now also becoming a threat to Senegal due to climate change. Rising sea levels are endangering the homes and livelihoods of coastal inhabitants. Amid all this heightened danger, the Senegalese gov't is dealing with climate change by seeking to transition into a green society through renewable energy, while at the same time creating regional green spaces with the international community. As a part of that, there is the Tolou Keur program, which involves local residents taking the lead to create circular gardens in various parts of the country as an effort to stop desertification and strengthen food security. This week, we'll meet with the Ambassador of Senegal to S. Korea, Mamadou Gueye Faye, to hear about all this and more on Senegal's path towards becoming a green society.
