Bangladesh, at the forefront of climate action

World Environment Report: Diplomat Talks on Climate Change - 2
Bangladesh, home to three large veins of rivers that pump through the nation. Located at the biggest river delta in the world, Bangladesh has been more susceptible to the impact of climate change such as severe floods, droughts, and cyclones. On top of this, the global trend of “fast fashion” is having detrimental effects on the nation that is the 2nd biggest garment manufacturer in the world. Quickly learning that taking actions against climate change and other environmental issues is directly linked to the country’s economic growth, the Bangladeshi government has not only come up with a long-term strategy, but also found ways to collaborate with other vulnerable countries and the international society to take proactive climate action. This week, we’ll meet with the Ambassador of Bangladesh to S. Korea, Abida Islam, to hear about Bangladesh and its actions to battle climate change.
