A year has passed since COVID-19 caused havoc worldwide, and experts are pointing out that mental health problems, or 'mentaldemic' is an emerging crisis of the pandemic. Those who recovered from COVID-19 are suffering from psychological sequelae, while others suffer from anxiety attacks and depression due to the prolongment of the coronavirus. We sit down with experts to talk more about mental health problems in this COVID-19 era.
The elderly are vulnerable to infections and face a higher risk of mortality. There is a high possibility of cluster infections taking place at nursing homes around the country and prompt inoculations are necessary. Most elderly residents at nursing homes struggle with mobility issues so it is difficult for them to get to the vaccination centers. We find out more about community health centers that dispatch medical workers to vaccinate people at nursing homes.
