Electric vehicles (EV) are in the limelight due to the worldwide issue of global warming and exhaust fumes. Sales of electric vehicles reached the 2 million mark in 2018, doubling compared to the previous year. Now then, what's Korea's position in EV market shares and technical skills in the rapidly growing global electric vehicle market? At the moment, many are concerned as South Korea has a heavy dependence on Japan for the core components needed to manufacture EVs.
