Navigating the New Normal – Working From Home

With COVID-19 forcing people to stay at home, many enterprises suddenly have to support a remote workforce. As the world’s most wired country, technology has made the transition and business continuity efforts seem seamless in Korea. Having said that, there are two camps when it comes to working from home. One group usually thinks people will get nothing done, and the other believes workers will be happier and more productive. So, how are remote workers coping with the current situation? Meet remote workers in Korea and Toss Lab, the developer of group-oriented messaging platform JANDI, to see how Koreans are adjusting to the new normal.

Story of Chinese Students Returning to Korea

“I started trusting Korea more”
Of all the Chinese international students enrolled in universities in Cheonan, South Korea, 1480 of them have returned since late February for the new school year. To ensure the safety of its residents and all the international students, the city of Cheonan and the universities in the city have started providing support and taking care of the returning Chinese students at ten college dormitories. How are the Chinese students spending their time after having been placed under 2-week quarantine?
We met with two Chinese students studying at Namseoul University who told us their experience about South Korea’s response measures against COVID-19, and how grateful they are for the support they had received.

Delivering Supply Kit for COVID-19

COVID-19 is taking its toll on everyone, but the most vulnerable and the ones that are having most trouble purchasing hygiene products, such as masks, are the elders. To help the seniors, a community service center in Yongsan-gu district has put together 200 boxes of around US$ 8200 worth of donated supplies, including masks and hand sanitizers, and distribute them to the seniors living alone. Once the civil servants put together the ‘emergency supply kit box for COVID-19’ and hand them over to the community leaders of the region, the leaders visit the seniors and distribute them one-by-one personally. We take a closer look at the heartwarming process of how the boxes of emergency supply kit for COVID-19 are delivered.
