The Cool Roof Project is being implemented in Huinnyeoul Culture Village in Busan, with volunteers from Korea and Japan working together to help the vulnerable class survive the summer heat. This project involves coating the roofs of homes with a special paint that helps reflect sunlight and the heat to lower the indoor temperature. Fifteen volunteers from Good, a non-profit organization based in Japan, and fourteen volunteers from the Busan Culture and Art Education Federation in Korea joined forces to work toward a common goal, amidst the intensifying tensions between their countries. We take you to meet the young adults who partnered up to do good!
With the entire world waging war against plastic waste, teenagers from all over Seoul got together to further raise awareness of this issue... by building rafts using plastic waste such as plastic bottles and containers and using them to travel down the Hangang River. What they hope to achieve through this environmental project is to remind people of the fact that plastic waste can be recycled into valuable resources. A total of 9 teams participated in the event to make one-of-a-kind floating platforms and journey down the river! So did all nine teams safely make it to the finish line? Tune in this week to find out!
