390 Afghan evacuees consist of collaborators of the S. Korean government in Kabul and their families safely arrived at S. Korea’s Incheon International Airport on August 26th and 27th. They will be temporarily staying in a government-designated facility in Jincheon for up to eight weeks. The Blue House praised the nation’s ‘airtight security’ of its evacuation plan as it successfully executed the mission amid the frantic situation in Kabul. Meanwhile, Japan has seen much trouble with its evacuation mission, having succeeded in bringing just one of some 500 nationals and local evacuees initially planned to retrieve.
