Covid19 is the third virus that has ever been classified as ‘pandemic’ by the World Health Organization. The virus is affecting more than 200 countries on all six continents. The infection is accelerating across the world, with 100,000 new cases having erupted in the last four days. Despite efforts in Europe, such as locking down cities and enforcing movement restrictions, the cases are spiking in nations such as Italy, Spain, and Germany. The U.S. is experiencing medical supplies shortages as it started testing 10,000 people per day.
Meanwhile, the world is praising South Korea as the infection slows down within the nation. Italy and the U.S. are among the countries to start implementing the Korean quarantine model. In Korea, inspecting and keeping track of the conditions of inbound travelers remains as a key initiative to curb the virus.
In this week’s The Point, we take a look at how the world is coping with the COVID19 pandemic and revisit South Korea’s anti-virus measures, which are based on quarantining travelers from abroad.
