Episode 41
China's future policy direction through the Two Sessions

China's largest political event, the Two Sessions, came to an end after a two-week period. The event brings together the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, an advisory body. It lays out China's major policies and the direction of its political economy. On this year's Two Sessions, economic problems were at the forefront as China's economy was shaken due to the trade dispute with the United States. With that, President Xi Jinping, who was dubbed "Emperor Xi", is facing some backlash. On this week's episode of [The Point: World Affairs], we predict China's big policy directions for this year and predict whether trade negotiations will be successful at the Xi-Trump summit scheduled soon to take place.
