President Donald Trump has officially announced a 2nd U.S.-DPRK summit that will take place in the near future after President Moon's visit to the U.S. Now, attention is focused on whether the two leaders from North Korea and the U.S. will be able to reach a realistic deal on the end-of-the-war declaration as well as the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Amid this, many critics in the U.S. are distrustful of North Korea's intentions to denuclearize, saying that the U.S. should not grant any concessions until there's a substantive move from Pyeongyang first.
On this week's [The Point: World Affairs], we sit down with Professor Choo Jae-woo from Kyung Hee University to analyze the reasons for the distrust and connect with Steve Herman from VOA News and Bruce Klingner from the Heritage Foundation to hear the local sentiment.
