The first meeting of the Korea-Mexico Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation and Knowledge Sharing took place in Seoul, Korea on October 10 to further boost the two countries' economic cooperation and to combat growing global trade protectionism. Korea has also initiated the process of seeking associate membership of the Pacific Alliance trade bloc, composed of Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, for the economic cooperation with Latin American states.
Mexico is located on the other side of the globe from Korea, about 12,500km away, yet the two nations maintain close relations, making change together.
Therefore, on "The Diplomat" this week, we are going to sit down with Mexican Ambassador to Korea Bruno Figueroa to learn more about the status of our relationship as well as Ambassador's efforts to link the two countries.
