Public diplomacy is a way of enhancing the status of Korea in the world by communicating with people of various nations.
Chang Jae-bok, Ambassador for Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is at the center of such public diplomacy efforts.
After joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988, Chang served as director of the Human Rights and Social Affairs Division in 2007, and was also appointed as the Consul-General of the ROK in Milan in 2014.
In 2018, Chang served as the Deputy Minister for Protocol Affairs. He has also been posted at the Korean Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, and also worked in various other locations such as Ghana, Switzerland, and France.
Based on such a broad range of experiences, he currently plays an active role as Ambassador for Public Diplomacy.
