There have been many survival films and TV series before, but what differentiates ‘Squid Game’ from its predecessors? Many experts agree that the series owes its popularity to its candid reflection of the realities of the world we live in, including economic inequality and the gap in access to healthcare. One U.S. media report said that Americans are playing their own version of ‘Squid Game’ every day, as they fight for better wages and basic worker rights.
