This year marks the 71st anniversary of the Korea War. Three years ago, the Panmunjeom Declaration and the Kim-Trump summit led to a dramatic thaw in inter-Korean relations. But they have turned sour since talks between North Korea and the U.S. fell apart in Hanoi. Pyeongyang has remained unresponsive to the attempts by Seoul and Washington to engage in dialogue. The foreign media suggests North Korea’s withdrawal from the Tokyo Olympics has dashed South Korea’s hopes that the Games could revive stalled peace talks. In this week’s edition of Foreign Correspondents, we sit down with our panel of journalists to discuss where the cross-border relations stand today.
