South Korean actress Youn Yuh-jung won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in “Minari.” Youn is the first Korean ever to land an Oscar and the second Asian actress to win in the category. The 74-year-old actress’s win comes a year after the Korean film “Parasite” made history after winning Best Picture and Best Director at the Oscars. In this week’s edition of Foreign Correspondents, we sit down with our panel of journalists to shed light on the widespread appeal of Korean popular culture and discuss ways to keep the global audience interested in Korean entertainment content.
