Last month, a string of shootings at Atlanta-area spas in the U.S. left eight people dead, including six women of Asian descent. Amid the recent surge in hate and violence against Asian Americans, the U.S. Senate is pushing to advance an anti-Asian hate crimes bill. Maryland created a new statewide workgroup to address hate crimes specifically targeting Asian Americans. In this week’s edition of Foreign Correspondents, we sit down with our panel of journalists to discuss the rise of hate crimes against certain ethnic groups and identify possible ways to fight the troubling trend.
