Myanmar is spiraling into civil war, as violent crackdowns on anti-coup protesters continue across the country. ASEAN states are staying neutral on the situation, while China has yet to condemn the coup, stressing the principle of non-interference. As the crisis spills across international borders, calls are growing for the UN to invoke the responsibility to protect and intervene through military action. In this week’s edition of Foreign Correspondents, we sit down with our panel of journalists to discuss the lack of action at the UN level until now and examine the possibility for future intervention by UN forces.
