A growing number of studies show that ethnic minorities are more likely to catch or die from COVID-19. These findings have prompted a debate about the social and economic inequalities facing vulnerable groups in society. With schools shifting to online learning during the pandemic, some students have had limited access to education. Amid concerns over the disparities exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis, some argue a universal basic income could be the solution.
