COVID-19 is taking a huge toll on the global economy. The IMF predicted that the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns around the world will bring about the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression of the 1930s. In the U.S., nearly 26 mil. people lost their jobs 5 weeks into the shutdown. Travel restrictions and business closures worldwide have lead to a collapse in oil prices. In this week's edition of Foreign Correspondents, we sit down with our panel of journalists to talk more about how the pandemic will reshape the global economy. We also discuss emergency relief programs that governments are offering to help people overcome the financial impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
