Foreign Correspondents Ep.138 - President Moon Jae-in's two years in power
The achievements and remaining challenges for the
Moon Jae-in government as it hits the two-year mark

Two years ago on May, 2017, President Moon Jae-in was elected into office, carrying with him the hopes and dreams of an entire nation. According to a recent poll, 51.7% of the respondents said they were generally satisfied with the job President Moon has done so far, with his job approval rating being especially high in the areas of welfare policies and foreign affairs. However, he has earned lackluster grades for his economic policies, sentiments which have been echoed by even the president's own policy panel. The Moon administration has faced heavy criticism over its income-led growth initiative, while concerns linger over the country's shortage of quality jobs. Regardless, President Moon has made great strides in introducing reform measures to the areas of diplomacy, education and the economy over the last two years. But, what further efforts need to be taken if he is to leave a lasting legacy as a successful leader who faithfully carried out his pledges? In this week's edition of 'Foreign Correspondents', we sit down with our panel of journalists to take a look back at the first two years of the Moon Jae-in presidency to talk about all of these issues and more.
