Foreign Correspondents Ep.89 - The revival of the North Korea-U.S. summit
The revival of the North Korea-U.S. summit scheduled for June 12

The North Korea-U.S. summit is now back on track, shortly after the announcement of its cancellation. On May 24, U.S. President Donald Trump sent a letter to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, informing him that he would not be holding the bilateral summit. Pyongyang responded with a statement, expressing its willingness to resume dialogue at any time through any means. Trump thanked North Korea for its warm gesture, and following a series of working-level meetings between North Korea and the U.S. in Panmunjom, Singapore and New York, hopes were rekindled that the bilateral summit could be as originally scheduled after all. On June 1, Kim Yong-chol, the Vice-Chairman of the Workers' Party Central Committee, delivered a personal letter from Kim Jong-un to President Trump in Washington DC. Trump subsequently announced that he would meet with Kim for a summit in Singapore on June 12th. In this week's edition of "Foreign Correspondents", we sit down with our panel of journalists to discuss the upcoming summit in more detail.
