Korean company set out for global social contribution!
The corporate culture that has been focused on profit making is changing. Companies are choosing a win-win approach by engaging in social contribution along with growth! Social contribution by companies is not limited to Korea but has also expanded to overseas. The movement had a positive effect in spreading the Korean Wave boosting exchanges between under developed nations and Korea.
For example, on June 29th the 'Happy Builders' comprised of POSCO Engineering &Construction and a college student volunteer group arrived at Vientiane, a town 75km from the capital city of Laos, after a departure ceremony.
The group visited a small village near the POSCO Engineering&Construction plant site to help rebuild school facilities and set up a multimedia room.
There were cultural exchanges through a festival that demonstrated Korean Tuho, Samul nori and Taekwondo.
[Bizline] will bring you on-site scenes of the cultural exchanges formed between Korea and Laos led by the volunteers, local students and residents as well as show the global social contribution movement by Korean companies.

Job Creation Policy for the Youth, ways for it to succeed?

In June, the Korean employment market fared better than last month showing signs of recovery with youth unemployment remaining at a high level.
As the presidential advisory body the youth committee started to function since July 16th with job creation for the youth population high on the agenda.
President Park Geun-hye has promised 70-percent employment rate while according to a survey the Korean people are also hoping that the government pushes to create more jobs.
As an outcome of creating jobs, the government hopes to see the creative economy succeed, promote hiring without specification and implement equal 'part time job' opportunities.
We hear from the employment field experts on whether the recent government plan will help reach the goal of obtaining a 70-percent employment rate and get opinions on ways for the policy to work.
