What do leading actors JO In-sung, SONG Joong-ki, PARK Bo-gum and KIM Yu-jung all share in common? That they've all worn costume designed by LEE Jin-hee to create box office wonders. Costume director LEE Jin-hee has made her name with costumes works on films such as "The Great Battle" and "The Treacherous" as well as Korean dramas "Love in the Moonlight" and "Sungkyunkwan Scandal"; but few know that she's already worked over 20 years in film, drama as well as theater. Now continuing on her success as a set designer and a costume director, LEE has launched a new fashion brand this autumn.
The brand HAMU ('dancing water' in Korean) has its roots in Korean traditional costume hanbok – which certainly takes the place of pride in her long and varied portfolio. LEE has reinterpreted the essential beauty of Korean clothes with a fabulously contemporary touch. HAMU's offerings are not for fictional characters but for real people of our time; it's her way of communicating with the public. The INNERVIEW meets LEE Jin-hee, costume director and designer, to explore her philosophy of beauty and hear how she speaks to the world through fashion.
