The world-renowned Mariinsky Ballet in Russia presents with pride its principal ballet dancers. There is one Asian male among this most prestigious company – Kimin KIM has now been with the Mariinsky for 7 years. In 2016, he became the first Korean male dancer to win Benois de La Danse for Ballerino – this is often called the Academy Award for the world of dance. Now only in his mid-twenties, KIM is in his prime as a dancer, giving stunning performances in Russia, America, Europe and beyond.
Kimin KIM built on his talent with an inspiring work ethic – his teachers had to stop him from practicing too much. Now standing at the very heights of international ballet, INNERview meets Kimin KIM to hear his story of sweat and tears behind those breathtakingly beautiful stages.
