Few words that best describe Cuba – the Sun, Sea, a chilled glass of Mojito and music. Daymé Arocena, the rising diva of Cuban jazz, has made her first visit to Korea.
Only 8 years when she first began to learn musical instruments like the piano, violin and the African traditional drum conga, Daymé Arocena rose to fame from an early age as a child prodigy. Often compared to the legendary Cuban diva Omara Portuondo of Buena Vista Social Club, Daymé's voice has received a global praise. In 2015, she received the Juno Award for the Best Jazz Album.
Her reputation has already gone beyond the heat of Havana as she now travels to the United Sates and Europe to showcase the finest of Cuban Jazz. INNERview meets Daymé Arocena to feel that Cuban vibe.
