Shamshad Akhtar, the Executive Secretary of UN ESCAP
The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, was founded in 1947 and currently has 62 members.
Shamshad Akhtar, the 10th Executive Secretary of UN ESCAP, is an international financial expert from Pakistan who has been playing a key role in promoting economic and social development and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
On "The Innerview," she explained the key topics discussed at the 1st High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development in Asia and the Pacific and the regional and sub-regional cooperation measures.
In addition to sharing UN ESCAP's financial, economic, social and environmental activities, she revealed the progress and expected impact of some of the projects including the Trans-Asian Railway Project.
She also provided her insight on the measures toward regional integration and equality, and shared her dream to promote equality and eradicate poverty.
