Seoul was appointed as the first World Design Capital on October 20, 2010 during the general meeting of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) held in San Francisco, USA.
Among many other popular destinations, Seoul was selected as the World Design Capital.
So what was the reason behind Seoul’s appointment as the WDC 2010?
In this program, we focus on the motivating forces behind Seoul’s appointment as WDC 2010, and also reveal examples that the pilot city for the WDC project, Torino, showed us. The program also shows how Helsinki, Finland is preparing to become the next WDC in 2012 and how Seoul was able to be reborn as a design capital.
