Witness our traditional Korean music bringing fire to Europe in 2010!
Say hello to 'Dulsori', a group of young Pungmul ensemble that is more in demand in Europe than in Korea
Their Gugak performance, "World Beat Binari" has received an invitation to perform at Denmark Roskilde Rock Festival, the biggest rock festival in Northern Europe. They may have already been recognized as a credible act through their continued presence at WOMAD for the past 7 years, but this is the first time they are performing in front of a pro-rock crowd. How will they fare in such an exciting envirionment at the Denmark Roskilde Rock Festival?
Europe's extended invitation to Korean music and culture does not end there.
For example, Mr. Choi Dong-ho, the master of Hwanghaedo Cheolmuri Gut who has been invited to the Belgium Sfinks Festival for the second year in a row.
How will the Europeans react to Hwanghaedo Gut taking place for 3 days and two nights under the bright skies of Belgium?
Also included will be the foreign visitors of Korea that have completely fallen head over heels over Korean Pungmul: Aga from Poland; Wang Shenyue of China; Simon Barker of Australia, one who is so infatuated with traditional Korean music that he even produced a documentary on it; and Hendrikje of Switzerland, who first started learning Samulnori and moved on to Mugut. We will hear their stories on how they have come to fall in love with Korean music and the traditional culture in general.
