<The Culture Contents Industry is the Future>
Part 1
Under a theme that maintains the 21st century is an era of cultural war, this Arirang Special shows how the world will compete in the cultural industry. Viewers can listen to diverse comments by economic experts from around the nation, and learn how lifestyles have changed through the influence of Korean cultural content. Viewers can also learn about Korean workers who have made successful inroads in other nations with their cultural materials.

Part 2
Part 2 of the program analyzes how Korea is making an effort to become a pillar of the cultural industry. Featuring Korea’s new trends, you can learn how the country has transformed into a cultural-industry nation from one centered on manufacturing. Tune in to learn more about the Korean Wave trend, including dramas, movies, animations, and mobile content, all of which have been spreading around the world. Viewers can also glimpse what Korea may look like in the future.

<Growing Seeds of Hope, Korea Overseas Volunteers>
This program covers the activities of Korea Overseas Volunteers (KOV)’s abroad, and that of various international cooperation businesses that are part of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Our special edition shows the controversies and significance of doing international business, also featuring Korea’s young volunteer workers around the world. We deliver to you comments from local communities. We spotlight international volunteers who exude a loving and helpful attitude in their communities. Is it any wonder Korea Overseas Volunteers are called the “People Growing Seeds of Hope?”

<Korean Wave, It`s an Industry Now!>
Unlike other programs about the Korean Wave, this Arirang Special focuses not only on the content of the phenomenon, but on its economic and industrial effects. It examines the Korean Wave as a cultural force spreading across Asia, in countries including China, Japan, Vietnam, and across the Middle East and Central and South America.

<Korean Arts & Lifestyle>
Co-produced with the Korea Foundation, Arirang broadcasts a special documentary titled “Korean Arts & Lifestyle” in three parts: “The Clothes, Foods and Houses of Early Korea,” “The Life of Koreans” and “The Beauty of Traditional Korean Arts.”

In part I, we travel back to early Korea to explore lifestyles and how they pursued a balance of arts and nature. Features include houses built with scientific logistics for lighting and wind in mind, comfortable clothes that reflect nature’s beauty and the cultivation of a healthy cuisine.

Part II addresses filial piety, a highly regarded and essential Korean virtue. Highlighting the fact that a rich culture is not born quickly, but rather, over time and lifetimes, for that matter, this program shows how Korea’s ancestors made history and how modern-day folks can best preserve their contributions.

Part III is all about traditional Korean arts, including traditional Korean drawings, music, and dances. Viewers will understand just how essential nature is to the realization of Korean arts through paintings that depict the authenticity of nature, through music made with completely natural instruments, and through dances that convey the cycle of life.

This three-part series is an opportunity for the global audience to better understand Korea, its arts and its lifestyles.
