Peace Clock Going Backwards, Any Breakthrough in Inter-Korean Relations?
On the afternoon of June 16, the South-North Joint Liaison Office collapsed. The situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula is turning tense as the office, a symbol of inter-Korean cooperation and dialogue, has been blown up by the North. Immediately after the blast, Cheong Wa Dae called an emergency meeting of the NSC's standing committee and warned against North Korean provocations.
Amid heightened tensions on the Korean Peninsula due to North Korea's provocations, U.S. President Trump has decided to extend his executive order to impose sanctions on the North, and the U.S. State Department has expressed full support for Seoul's efforts for inter-Korean relations!
We will analyze the background of North Korea's extreme choice and hidden intentions and seek solutions to inter-Korean relations at a crossroads.
