Two years ago on April 27th, 2018, the entire world held its breath as the leader of North Korea made a historic crossing into the South for the first time since the two Koreas were divided along the 38th parallel well over half a century prior.
The inter-Korean summit between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on that April day would lead to many first-evers. The first North Korea, U.S. summit, the first air travel by Kim Jong-un, the first visit by a South Korean leader to Mt. Baekdu.
Possibilities for engagement in 2018 hit an impasse after a failed North Korea, U.S. summit in Hanoi in 2019 which turned to a stalemate in 2020.

Arirang News' chief anchor Connyoung Jennifer Moon reflects on the last two years and looks forward to the next two years in inter-Korean relations and North Korea, U.S. ties with Moon Chung-in, Special Adviser to the South Korean President for Unification, Diplomacy, and National Security on Arirang Special 'April 2018 Inter-Korean Summit: Two Years On.'
