The National Debt Redemption Movement was a movement where the people of Korea pooled their pocket money to save the country.
Acknowledged for its excellent historical significance and originality, the National Debt Redemption Movement was inscribed to the Memory of the World Register in 2017. Through this program, we share the meaning and value of this movement with the viewers so they can share and preserve this universal value.
Koreans showed solidarity to stick together in patriotism through thick and thin, and marched forward. The National Debt Redemption Movement is a historical event that best illustrates that spirit of Koreans.
It is now recognized as documentary heritage and has become a part of the world’s collective memory.
