World renowned French intellectual, culture critic and futurist Guy Sorman has said Korea's biggest issue is not its politics, nor is it its economy but its weak national brand. In August 2008, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Korea, President Lee Myung-bak pledged to dramatically improve Korea's national brand value.
