All that Han! It's Uniquely Korean

Korea's traditional culture has evolved over the span of thousands of years, adjusting to changes in Korean society to become the perfect reflection of the lifestyles and ideologies of the Korean people.

The eight documentaries that make up "All that Han! It's Uniquely Korean," Korean Alphabet Hangeul; Traditional Korean Food; Traditional Korean Clothes; Traditional Korean Paper; Traditional Korean Houses; Traditional Korean Music; Traditional Korean Dance; and Traditional Korean Pottery, provide a fascinating glimpse into Korea's traditional culture and into the minds of the Korean people.

Koreans have long lived on foods that embody the close relationship between food and medicine. They have also expressed their thoughts with a unique writing system that is regarded as one of the most scientific alphabets in the world.

Just as the rough naturalness of a Joseon Dynasty bowl shows a simple, poignant and untouched beauty, so too does Korean culture convey the wonderful charms of nature just as it is.

In this way Korean culture is the embodiment of the wisdom of the Korean people - a wisdom that is focused on nature and grace, health and science. Koreans's spiritual outlook on the universe and the ways the Korean people meditate on nature and absorb its energy are captured in their food, dress, songs and dances.

These days, Korea's nature-focused traditional culture has emerged as a new cultural alternative for busy contemporary people, giving mental repose and health.

"All that Han! It's Uniquely Korean" traces the sources of Korean culture and looks into the traditional styles that represent and symbolize Korean culture. It also suggests the present and future of traditional Korean culture by examining how it communicates with citizens of the world now, and in what direction it will evolve in the fast-paced future.
