Senior defense officials from S. Korea, U.S., Japan hold phone talks on N. Korea's missile launch Updated: 2022-01-14 08:00:30 KST

Senior defense officials from South Korea, U.S. and Japan talked over the phone Thursday to discuss North Korea's missile launches.
Seoul's Deputy Defense Minister Kim Man-ki, the U.S. assistant secretary of defense for Indo-Pacific security affairs Ely Ratner, and an official from the Japanese defense ministry exchanged views on the situation on the Korean Peninsula and reaffirmed the importance of trilateral cooperation.
The call coming two days after the North launched what it claims was a hypersonic missile.
The officials agreed to hold trilateral talks at a ministerial-level at a later date.
