U.S. President-elect Joe Biden is expected to appoint foreign policy expert Kurt Campbell to a newly-created position of 'Asia Tsar' reports the Financial Times on Wednesday.
The former top Pentagon official who also served as the top State department official for Asia during the Obama administration has been vocal in recent weeks that the Biden government will have to make an early decision on what approach it will take with North Korea and not repeat the delay of the Obama era.
Meanwhile, U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Harry Harris announced that he's leaving his post next week.
