For the first time, South Korean cars have the third-biggest market share in Europe.
According to the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association, Hyundai and Kia in the first quarter this year sold a combined 270-thousand vehicles in Europe, an on-year increase of more than 21 percent.
The growth was mostly attributed to strong demand for eco-friendly vehicles.
The two carmakers ranked third after Volkswagen Group and Stellantis.
They also had the third-biggest market share in the United States with sales of 320-thousand units.
