Market cap of KOSPI, KOSDAQ significantly down in January Updated: 2022-01-29 15:29:08 KST

The market capitalization of South Korea's KOSPI and KOSDAQ was significantly down in January due to concerns over the U.S. Fed tightening its monetary policies.
According to the Korea Exchange, the market cap was down some 175-trillion Korean Won, around 144-billion U.S. dollars, when compared to the end of last year.
Despite LG Energy Solution's blockbuster market debut, the benchmark KOSPI lost over 89-billion dollars, with investors pulling out of a number of major stocks.
