Global wealth more than triples as China beats U.S. in net worth Updated: 2021-11-17 07:31:44 KST

Net worth across the ten countries that make up 60-percent of the world's GDP has tripled since 2000.
The report by McKinsey Global Institute says net worth grew from 1-hundred-60 trillion U.S. dollars in 2000 to over 500 trillion in 2020.
However, the report says the increase reflects valuation gains in real assets, especially real estate, instead of investment in productive assets that drive economies.
China's wealth surpassed the U.S. with 1-hundred-20 trillion dollars jumping from 7 trillion in 2000.
