World's biggest hydrogen power plant completed in S. Korea Updated: 2021-10-26 19:58:13 KST

South Korea held a ceremony today to mark the completion of what is currently the world's biggest single hydrogen fuel cell power plant, which is expected to contribute to Korea achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The plant was built by Korea Southern Power Company in the port city of Incheon.
It has an output of nearly 700 gigawatt hours a year, which they say is enough to power some 250-thousand homes in the capital area.
The plant creates almost no harmful by-products and actually purifies the air -- they say, enough for close to a million people to breathe in a day.
